Everything was really good, decent staff, fantastic views over the hills. I ate at a good restaurant for dinner. Private bathrooms, that included a jacuzzi. Plus, I was able to park the car onsite. Unbeatable and peaceful location a minute walk from Church of st Mary, enjoyed it. This hotel was set in a beautiful area.

Very rich breakfast and especially nice staff. Management is flexible and compared to a B&B it is pleasant to have the choice to eat and drink at the Inn in the evening.

Room was cramped, dusty and bins had not been emptied from previous guest. Bedspread stained. Attic room, sloping roof not suitable for anyone over 5'6" and stairs difficult to negotiate with luggage. Breakfast adequate, mould in jam on breakfast table.

The room was beautifully decorated, bare stone walls and beamed ceiling. The sisters who run the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Was a bit disappointed that we didn't see the resident ghosts, maybe next time! Will definitely visit again.

Great location and recently refurbished rooms which still kept the old inn feel but with new bathrooms. Lovely breakfast and good food and range of beer. Friendly manager and staff. Ask for a car park permit for free parking closeby.

Charming atmosphere with cute staff
The staff provided really good service, we felt at home, and the breakfast was a highlight with freshly made bread and local ingredients. The room was a bit smaller than expected, slightly cramped for my liking.

Beautiful village with peaceful atmosphere, very laid back and relaxing. The inn was very centrally placed and each room modernised and unique, if small.
Bar had been modernised an d did not quite have the atmosphere of a country pub.

The hotel has a terrific location in Hawkshead, Cumbria in the heart of the Lake District.
The room was cramped and cold--no heat at all on a night when the temperature dropped into the 40's outside. We checked out early. One of the owners helped us find another room nearby.
